Deal extends TiVo’s digital reach

CNet: TiVo said Monday it has agreed on a deal to provide digital video recorder equipment and service to customers of the more than 1,100 member companies of the National Cable Television Cooperative. Pace, DirecTV Sign Set-top Deal

Digital set-top box manufacturer Pace Micro Technology has signed an agreement with DirectTV under which it will supply the satellite entertainment distributor with set-top boxes during 2006.
The deal—whose financial terms were not disclosed, provided DirecTV with boxes that being described as “next generation” of PVR’s.

TiVo study shows time-shifting down in summer

TiVo viewing data by New York-based media agency MPG finds that over the past two weeks, most of TiVo users’ top 25 broadcast network shows weren’t recorded but instead seen live.
“It seems like the DVR usage is seasonal,” said Nina Kanter, director of communication analysis at MPG told the Hollywood Reporter.
