Yahoo and TiVo have partnered to schedule downloads to TiVo boxes from any Internet connection.

Investors.com reports that TiVo Inc. said after the market closed Wednesday that it delivered a second-quarter profit as revenue rose 46% , helped by increased subscribers to its digital video recording service, but said it no longer expects to reach sustainable profitability by the fourth quarter.

TiVo has struck a deal with the Independent Film Channel to transmit several of the cable channel’s shows through a broadband connection as part of a trial program. Participating customers will begin receiving the shows next week. More at Yahoo.
