U.S. DVR Ownership Climbs to 11 Percent

According to a newly released study, 11 percent of U.S. adults aged 18 and over report owning a digital video recorder.

According to Worldscreen, the study was issued by the Total TV Audience Monitor (T-TAM), an annual syndicated report that measures total TV viewing.

It was also found that while DVR owners watch virtually the same amount of TV as non-owners, they are more likely to watch TV in unmeasured out-of-home locations such as second homes, hotels, colleges and the workplace. In the average week, one-quarter of DVR owners watch TV in un-measured, out-of-home locations compared to 19 percent of non-owners.
