Alexander Grundner over at eHomeUpgrade writes that he wants Snapstream on his Linux box. Why is all I can say? What’s wrong with Freevo or MythTV? sure, they are a little difficult to install, but would’nt the better path be lobbying support to make both easier to install?

Pace, DirecTV Sign Set-top Deal

Digital set-top box manufacturer Pace Micro Technology has signed an agreement with DirectTV under which it will supply the satellite entertainment distributor with set-top boxes during 2006.
The deal—whose financial terms were not disclosed, provided DirecTV with boxes that being described as “next generation” of PVR’s.
